Built by a trader, for traders who take it seriously.
Rubicon Trading is a desktop software product made by ShapeUp LLC, a US-based software company headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The story
ShapeUp LLC built Rubicon because existing tools didn't enforce the discipline needed to scale strategies beyond a single account, and most “trading software” makes promises that don't survive contact with real markets. We started with a simple question: what would a serious trader actually want their workflow to look like?
The answer was a centralized library, a methodology framework that actually rejects bad strategies, and an execution layer that lives on the trader's own machine and their own broker relationships. That's what Rubicon is.
The methodology origin
Rubicon is built around a six-phase validation framework with 29 gate-by-gate checks. The framework is opinionated on purpose — strategies that pass paper-thin tests but fail real markets are exactly what the methodology is designed to filter out. Pro and Elite users can override individual thresholds with justification.
